Navigating Gate Tickets & Tour Options

When visiting the Cape of Good Hope, park tickets are purchased at the SANParks main entry gate on the M65 highway. SANParks enforces a 3-tier annual tariff structure running from November through October. To receive local resident or SADC rates, South African citizens must present valid physical South African IDs or passports—photocopies or plain digital photos on phones are frequently turned down by park officials.

Important note for independent travellers: SANParks gates accept card payments only. Cash is not accepted at entry gates. If you choose to join a guided day tour from Cape Town, double-check whether entry fees are included. Many budget boulders beach and cape of good hope day tours include guide service and transport but require payment of the R515 entrance fee directly at the gate or as a tour add-on.
